The Spano's Group is an award-winning independent family supermarket retailer with over 30 years retailing experience. We are looking for friendly retail assistants (cashiers) to join our team at our Mermaid Waters store and predominantly assist at Store Opening times (5.30am).

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Able to provide prompt, courteous and efficient customer service
  • Handling cash and cashier work with outstanding customer service
  • Handling food safely and preventing food poisoning or other safety breaches
  • Clean and maintain work areas, tools and equipment
  • Asist customers locate, choose and buy products.
  • Weigh, label, package and make products ready for sale
  • Duties of this position include organising items on shelves, removing expired products from displays, assisting customers in their daily shopping needs and bagging customer purchases

Qualifications & experience

  • Cashier and or customer service expereince
  • Experience in Supermarket (Retail) is preferable
  • Problem-Solving Skills
  • Clear Communication
  • Friendly Attitude
  • Be a self-starter and show initiative
  • Product/Service Knowledge
