Network Operations Lead - Digital Grid

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an electrical engineer who understands how a network operates in real time and can drive the uplift of digital capability across operations.

You'll lead initiatives that improve outage management, strengthen network performance, and modernise operational processes through better technology, data and engineering practices. Working across operations, engineering, technology and field teams, you'll guide the adoption of new tools, models and digital workflows that support safe, reliable and efficient two-way energy flows.

In this role, you'll set direction, lead a team and bring clarity to complex operational challenges. You'll combine deep operational experience with the ability to influence at all levels and drive practical, measurable improvement across the network.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading digital-grid and operational-improvement initiatives
  • Strengthening outage management, automation and real-time performance
  • Defining engineering standards and operational requirements for new digital systems
  • Translating operational data into structured improvement programs
  • Supporting integration of SCADA, ADMS, EMS, DERMS and related OT platforms
  • Collaborating across operations, engineering, technology and field teams
  • Embedding new processes and technologies across the organisation

What we're looking for

  • A strong electrical engineer with real network-operations experience
  • Deep understanding of outage management, switching and network behaviour
  • Clear communicator who can simplify complex technical concepts
  • Leader who can influence at all levels and guide teams through change
  • Experience with SCADA/ADMS/EMS/DERMS or similar operational technologies

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Significant experience in utilities, network operations or real-time engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Leadership, coaching and mentoring experience
  • Proven track record improving operational systems, processes or performance
