Our clinics in Hervey Bay are currently seeking a Medical Receptionist to join the team, this is a Casual position, working across our clinics in Maryborough, St Stephens Hospital and Fraser Coast, you will be available to cover annual leave and unplanned leave, between the hours of 7am-8pm Monday to Friday with optional weekend work available.

Role Overview:

As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your responsibilities will include:

Patient Interaction:

  • Greet patients professionally and courteously.
  • Assist patients with appointment scheduling.
  • Explain intake forms to new patients.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Manage medical records confidentially and efficiently.
  • Process patient payments (cash, Eftpos, direct billing).
  • Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, DVA and Workcover.
  • Handle internal emails and inquiries.
  • Maintain a tidy reception waiting area.

Collaboration:

  • Work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Communicate with referring doctors and hospital staff courteously.
  • Confidentiality:
  • Maintain patient personal and financial information confidentiality.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent telephone manner for handling internal inquiries and appointments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues
  • Intermediate computer skills
