We're seeking an experienced Accounts or Finance Manager ready to lead end-to-end accounting, payroll, and Xero systems across multiple entities.

You're the person people go to when they want things fixed.

You're not just good with numbers. You're good with systems. Good with clarity. Good with structure.

You write the SOPs that everyone else needs but never gets around to. You see the flaws in a process and you have the initiative to fix them. You're calm under pressure, picky about your spreadsheets, and probably a bit allergic to retyping things that software could handle.

You might be an experienced bookkeeper, a payroll lead, or a finance manager — but deep down, you know you're ready to lead a department. You've outgrown your current role. Now you want space to build something better.

About the Role

We're HandsOn — a multi-clinic allied health company with 12 locations and a central support office in Carina.

This new role is a true department lead. You'll step in to take over full accountability for the finance/admin function and bring clarity, efficiency, and structure to a department that's grown fast — and needs the right person at the helm.

We're not just hiring for skills. We're hiring for ownership.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Full oversight of Xero across five companies (and growing)
  • Oversight of payroll processes and systems (via Employment Hero) to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Implementing cleaner processes for third-party billing (e.g. WorkCover, DVA, insurers)
  • Managing your small internal accounts team (1–2 staff)
  • Generating weekly reporting/KPIs for management
  • Spotting things that are messy and fixing them
  • Building documentation and SOPs so the department can run without guesswork
  • Liaising with software teams or developers when needed — you don't need to code, but you do need to speak the language of systems and processes

This role is perfect for someone who:

  • Loves structure, systems and clarity (and hates inefficiency)
  • Can explain Xero setups and inter-entity workarounds with confidence
  • Knows that software is only as good as the people using it — and brings people along for the ride
  • Doesn't mind being the most organised person in the room
  • Is done with reactive chaos and ready to lead with purpose

We'd be impressed if you:

  • Have helped implement systems like Employment Hero, Dext, ApprovalMax, Lightyear or similar
  • Can confidently liaise with software teams or developers and understand the basics of system integrations
  • Know how to delegate without dumping, and document without drowning
  • Want a stable long-term home where you can shape a department and own the outcome
