After Hours Coordinator - Night Shifts

We are currently seeking applications from Registered Nurses for the position of After-Hours Hospital Coordinator (night duty).

The After-Hours Coordinator (AHHC) is responsible for the overall management of the hospital outside of normal business hours, which includes assuring the delivery of high quality patient care. The AHHC is required to be involved in clinical, non-clinical and administrative tasks. Communication with staff, doctors, department managers, executive management, consumers, carers, contractors and the general public is a significant part of this role.

Role Requirements:

  • AHPRA Registered Nurse, with a minimum 5 years acute hospital experience in mental health
  • Demonstrated successful experience in patient flow and bed management strategies
  • Excellent, up-to-date clinical knowledge and skills
  • Excellence in written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership and teamwork
  • Knowledge related to legislation and policy that governs nursing practice and contemporary nursing issues
  • Knowledge related to legislation and policy that governs non-clinical practices and operations
  • Knowledge and commitment to using relevant information technology management systems which includes active management of Rosters in response to emergent leave
  • Ability to monitor and review staff performance and provide feedback
  • Sound and comprehensive knowledge of hospital administrative procedures and operational needs
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity and respect for internal and external stakeholders
  • Promote and monitor a safe workplace environment
  • Assume the role of senior resource to all departments
  • Demonstrate and role model high level clinical and problem-solving skills
  • Recognise when to escalate concerns to the executive on call
  • This is an exciting opportunity to work as an After-Hours Hospital Coordinator within Belmont Private Hospital. Training will be provided if required and support will be available from the wider management team.

This role is designated as 'Vaccination Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role'.  It is highly recommended for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases during their employment.  You will be asked by the recruiting manager to supply this evidence if you are the preferred candidate for the role.
