Are you an experienced Insurance Officer looking for your next opportunity?

We're seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join the team at a Local Council in Sydney.

This three-month contract is a fantastic chance to contribute your expertise, gain exposure to a diverse insurance portfolio, and work in a supportive and collaborative environment.

This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week, offering between $38 and $45 per hour plus superannuation, depending on experience.

The Role
As the Insurance Officer, you'll work closely with the Insurance Coordinator to manage the organisation's insurance portfolio and handle a variety of claims.

Your key responsibilities will include
:

  • Assisting with the management of insurance policies
  • Processing and administering insurance claims in line with policies and industry best practice
  • Providing advice and support to staff, stakeholders, and external parties on claims and policies
  • Liaising with insurance providers, claims management agents, and legal specialists as required
  • Maintaining accurate records and preparing regular portfolio reports
  • Supporting risk mitigation strategies and governance improvements

The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in insurance claims management
  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to manage diverse relationships
  • Solid written skills for reports and briefings
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities to manage competing priorities
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a team
  • Understanding of local government processes (desirable)
