An excellent opportunity is available for a newly graduated Speech Pathologist to join the Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) Speech Pathology team. This full-time temporary 2-year contract provides an opportunity for a new clinician to consolidate and enhance their graduating skills in a supportive but clinically challenging setting.
The new graduate position is well supported with regular departmental and district level professional development opportunities, direct and formal supervision by a senior clinician with opportunities throughout the year to participate in quality improvement activities. The clinician also has opportunities to commence developing skills in instrumental assessment throughout this contract and to gain experience in speciality areas, such as burns, spinal and paediatric feeding.
The second year of this position will provide an opportunity for weekend sole clinician experience with the roster changing to Tuesday to Saturday after 12 months.

What you'll be doing
The main purpose of this position is to provide accurate assessment and intervention for inpatients with swallowing and communication disorders within allocated clinical areas and selective outpatients within the local government area.

- Bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Supervised student clinical experience in an adult acute care setting with demonstrated skills and knowledge in the provision of Speech Pathology services to consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, intervention, case management, and appropriate referral and discharge planning.
- A strong interest in developing clinical skills in a wide range of adult swallowing and communication disorders in an acute tertiary teaching hospital setting
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).
