Test Analyst – Data Projects (2 Roles Available)

Location: Sydney CBD (Hybrid – 50% in-office)

Contract Duration: Initial 12-month contract with potential extensions

Security Clearance: Need to be Australian citizen who are willing to undergo Baseline Security clearance.

About the Project:

Join a premium client embarking on a strategic transformation to modernize their data management and storage capabilities. Now 12 months into the program, the focus is shifting from legacy on-premise systems to a cloud-first architecture, with Databricks as the central platform.

While the ingestion layer and foundational artifacts are in place, the business-facing data layer is yet to be developed. This is where you come in helping to build robust, scalable data solutions that empower business intelligence and analytics.

Your Role:

We're seeking two experienced Test Analysts with a strong background in data testing, particularly within Database and Data Warehouse environments. You'll play a critical role in validating data flows, ensuring accuracy, and embedding quality into the transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute test cases for data validation and transformation.
  • Write complex SQL queries to support testing and analysis.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and business analysts to ensure test coverage.
  • Contribute to test planning, execution, and reporting using tools like JIRA, TestRail, or HP ALM.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Test Analyst on data-centric projects.
  • Strong SQL skills for data validation and analysis.
  • Solid understanding of data testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience in Data Warehouse environments and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
