About the opportunity

We're searching for a passionate Barista to bring our brand-new Wellness Café in the Merrylands Community Wellness Centre to life This is a Part Time opportunity, working Monday to Friday, 9am–2pm, perfect for someone who loves great coffee, good company, and making a difference every day.

You'll be the friendly face and warm heart of the café, crafting delicious drinks, sharing meaningful conversations, and helping create a space that nourishes both body and soul. This is more than a barista role, it's about connection, community, and care.

What you'll be doing

• Deliver friendly, professional, and attentive service to all customers, including residents, families, staff, and community visitors.
• Engage respectfully with older adults, understanding their unique preferences and needs.
• Prepare and serve espresso coffee, tea, smoothies, and other café beverages to high quality standards.
• Prepare and serve light meals, snacks, and baked goods in accordance with food safety requirements.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
• Ensure compliance with WHS (Work Health and Safety) standards.
• Work closely with the Wellness and Allied Health teams to align the café offerings with broader wellbeing initiatives (e.g. healthy menu options, social connection activities).

What you'll bring

• Previous barista or café experience (Desirable)
• Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Barista training (Desirable, can be provided if needed)
