The Role

We are looking for a Barista to run our brand-new Wellness Café located in our Merrylands Community Wellness Centre. You will be working Part Time, Monday to Friday between 9am to 2pm.

You will play a key role in creating a warm, welcoming, and uplifting experience for residents, staff, families, and visitors at the Wellness Café. This role is more than coffee making, it's about connection, conversation, and creating a space that enhances wellbeing and community life within the aged care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, professional, and attentive service to all customers, including residents, families, staff, and community visitors.
• Engage respectfully with older adults, understanding their unique preferences and needs.
• Prepare and serve espresso coffee, tea, smoothies, and other café beverages to high quality standards.
• Prepare and serve light meals, snacks, and baked goods in accordance with food safety requirements.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
• Ensure compliance with WHS (Work Health and Safety) standards.

• Work closely with the Wellness and Allied Health teams to align the café offerings with broader wellbeing initiatives (e.g. healthy menu options, social connection activities).

• Previous barista or café experience (Desirable)

• Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Barista training (Desirable, can be provided if needed)
• Current Police Check / NDIS Worker Check
