Their core objective is to cultivate and grow economic opportunities through enterprise and community development projects and have a proven track record achieving positive social and economic impact in the communities.
Core Duties:
- Develop project work plans; monitor and report on progress and expenditure
- Support participant recruitment and onboarding, enabling community-led decision-making
- Liaise with training providers to coordinate relevant training and manage compliance records.
- Identify gaps and recommend improvements to systems and processes for best practice.
- Manage acquisition and distribution of project materials in line with budget and contract requirements.
- Respond to client and stakeholder queries efficiently and professionally.
- Work respectfully and responsively with First Nations clients, staff, and communities.
- Support culturally appropriate practices across all areas of work.
- Ensure project delivery aligns with local cultural protocols and community expectations.
- Ensure compliance with WH&S regulations, policies, and procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
- Ability to travel to remote locations including overnight stays
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating successful community projects in remote locations,
- Excellent knowledge of First Nation's culture and protocols with the ability to communicate and engage Indigenous communities effectively,
- Confident skills for leadership, problem solving, team building, time management, project coordination, and the ability to develop practical solutions,
- Good written and verbal communication, negotiation, people, and networking skills to successfully liaise with clients and stakeholders,
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a strong team-based culture with a positive outlook, a clear focus on quality and efficient mentoring services,
- Demonstrated ability to successfully engage with employers, community, stakeholders and delivery partners to achieve outcomes,
- Ability to develop practical and forward-thinking solutions to problems,
- Driver's Licence and relevant Child Suitability Card or ability to get one,
- Technology literate including sounds skills in using Windows based software programs, internet, and email.
Position Length: 12 month fixed term + Potential extension. This Role can be based form Cairns or Cooktown.
