About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join the fun and dynamic team at Kingsford Lawyers' as a full-time Bookkeeper. As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial records and ensuring the smooth day-to-day accounting operations of the firm. Based in Ashmore, QLD, this role offers a competitive salary and the chance to work for a leading law practice in a supportive and collaborative environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger entries and trust entries and reconciliation
  • Providing administrative support to the accounts team and liaising with external stakeholders, such as clients and suppliers
  • General administration such as filing, answering the phones when needed, assisting the legal team with their billing (receivables) using our legal software (Smokeball)
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements
  • Assisting with the preparation of GST and BAS returns

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounting role, ideally within a professional services or legal environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with proficiency in using MYOB and Microsoft Office applications
  • A proactive, organised, and customer-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in accounting or bookkeeping (e.g. Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or equivalent)
