Junior Accountant (8–12 Months Experience)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant with approximately 8–12 months of hands-on experience to join our team. This role is ideal for someone looking to build on their foundational accounting knowledge and grow within a supportive finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports under the supervision of senior staff
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice entry, payments, and bank reconciliations
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes through journal entries and reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and data entry in accounting systems
  • Provide assistance with BAS preparation, tax lodgements, and other compliance-related tasks
  • Liaise with government bodies such as the ATO, SRO, and ASIC for routine queries or lodgements
  • Take on general accounting and administrative duties as required to support the team

About You:

  • Approximately 8–12 months of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and good time management skills
  • Basic understanding of Australian tax and compliance requirements
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a professional accounting environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-player attitude
