Join our team as a Learning Specialist

Play a key role helping to build a workplace where people feel supported, engaged and set up for success at Redland City Council. You'll design and deliver learning programs that build capability, support new employees through a positive onboarding experience, and contribute to initiatives that enhance engagement, satisfaction and retention across the organisation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, delivering and evaluating onboarding and learning programs that build capability across Council
  • Facilitating Council's Corporate Induction program and ensuring a positive experience for all new employees
  • Supporting leaders to develop onboarding and learning plans that set clear expectations and align with organisational goals
  • Conducting training needs analysis (TNA) to identify and address capability gaps across the workforce
  • Partnering with managers and stakeholders to deliver learning solutions that drive engagement and retention
  • Reviewing and enhancing existing programs to improve learning outcomes and organisational performance
  • Using data and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements
  • Promoting digital literacy and behavioural capability development through creative learning initiatives

Skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience designing, delivering and evaluating end-to-end onboarding and learning programs
  • Strong understanding of contemporary learning practices and capability development approaches
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
  • Effective project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver results
  • Experience identifying opportunities for continuous improvement using data and feedback
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to engage diverse audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess learning effectiveness and recommend enhancements
  • A passion for supporting employee growth, engagement and organisational performance
