The Role
Yarra Valley Water is seeking a skilled Project Manager to deliver essential sewerage infrastructure as part of our Community Sewerage Program, from design through to commissioning. This role ensures projects align with Yarra Valley Water's strategic objectives, customer needs, and regulatory obligations.
Your key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of sewerage projects in line with Yarra Valley Water's policies and procedures
- Lead all aspects of project delivery, including community engagement and promotion of sewer connections
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders to ensure "best for community" outcomes
- Handle sensitive public and customer enquiries about sewerage services
- Provide accurate Preliminary Servicing Advice and input into servicing strategies
- Review and provide feedback on sewer asset designs
- Deliver timely project status and financial reports
- Contribute to team and process improvements across the division
- Uphold Yarra Valley Water's safety standards and proactively support a strong organisational culture
- Collaborate with internal teams and respond to audit and planning needs
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in Civil Construction
- Relevant Degree level qualification in Engineering (Mandatory)
- Degree in Project Management or equivalent (Highly desirable)
- Demonstrated understanding of sewer systems both gravity and pressure
- Knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles of project management, contract management and tendering procedures
- Knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles of effective quality assurance
- Knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Environmental Protection Act.
- High level of written, verbal and negotiation skills
- Ability to identify and manage internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with GIS software such as QGIS or GeoMedia and sewer network modelling software such as Infoworks ICM would be highly regarded
- Valid Victorian drivers licence, mandatory
