In 2020, Ali Lord, former Head of Events at Dentsu Aegis UK, brought HeadBox to Australia after seeing firsthand the power of our platform. Today, we're well-established in the Australian market and continuing to grow.

The Role

We're looking for a proactive and driven Business Development Manager to join our growing Melbourne team. In this role, you'll be responsible for expanding our venue partner (Host) network and driving adoption of our SaaS products.

Reporting directly to the Head of Sales & Venues Partnerships, you'll manage your own sales pipeline, build strong relationships with prospective partners, and work towards ambitious monthly targets. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth company at the forefront of event tech innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Venue Acquisition: Drive new business by onboarding unique venues onto the HeadBox platform and selling our suite of SaaS products to increase their visibility and revenue.
  • Revenue Targets: Own your pipeline and consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, with accurate forecasting.
  • Lead Generation: Manage both inbound (marketing-qualified) and outbound leads through prospecting, cold outreach, and networking.
  • Manage Deals: Prepare commercial proposal decks and conduct pitch meetings. Handle objections, negotiate terms, and close deals with confidence.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with the Client Relations team to ensure Hosts are supported, informed of new features, and receive outstanding service.

Requirements

  • Sales-Focused Mindset: You have a minimum 2 years' experience in a sales or business development role with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Commercially Driven: You have a strong business acumen with the ability to identify and seize new commercial opportunities.
  • Organised & Detail-Oriented: You are comfortable managing multiple deals and delivering high-quality collateral with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative & Curious:You're a self-starter who loves learning, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and lives our values of brilliance, integrity, empathy, and curiosity.
  • Adaptable: You're comfortable wearing multiple hats in a scale-up environment and able to pivot when priorities shift.
