**The Role**
The Business Manager holds a pivotal, multi-faceted role, overseeing strategic planning, resource allocation, and cultural development within a large and complex Program Office. This position is accountable for integrated strategic personnel planning, ensuring the organisation has the right structure and a skilled, knowledgeable team to achieve its goals. A significant aspect of this role involves sponsoring and managing the operationalisation of the Defence Culture Blueprint. This includes developing and implementing the ALSPO Cultural Intent and leading activities aligned with the blueprint's seven strategic pillars and compliance to Defence Values and Behaviours.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leadership and co-ordination to manage and oversee effective reporting and outputs for workforce, administration and business management services including budget and personnel contract management.
- Implementing strategies aligned to psychosocial health and well-being for Australian Public Service (APS) staff, and collaborates with the Commanding Officer (CO) for Australian Defence Force (ADF) members.
- Developing innovative solutions to resourcing constraints inclusive of change management activities.
- Building and maintaining a library of workforce and resource business intelligence artefacts to help senior management make informed decisions.
- Acting as liaison with Branch and other functional Groups across Defence to understand and implement broader strategic intent and ensure compliance and optimal performance across ALSPO.
**About our Team**
ALSPO delivers air mobility capabilities to support combat, humanitarian, diplomatic and peace-keeping operations. Our platforms and projects provide Air Mobility capability to Air Force through the delivery of sustainment services for the C-130J Hercules and C-27J Spartan aircraft.

Our team operates from RAAF Richmond; supportive of flexible work arrangements the position has the responsibility of being customer and personnel centric and will be required to work predominantly in location in Western Sydney.
