Receptionist/Office Administrative Assistant

North Herring Lawyers is a busy general legal practice with offices in Queanbeyan and Canberra.

We are seeking a candidate who can confidently assist our clients as their first point of contact and who can conduct themselves in a professional manner, supporting the work of the practice.

Responsibilities will include:

  • answering and directing telephone calls.
  • greeting clients and other visitors to the office.
  • opening, closing and maintaining files.
  • maintaining a mail register for outgoing mail.
  • dealing with safe custody enquiries and assisting in the management of our safe custody system.
  • receipting and handling monies.
  • undertaking other administration tasks to support other staff as required.
  • deliveries to other businesses.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • an ability to answer telephone calls confidently and professionally and to manage a busy switchboard.
  • proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • sound computer skills and typing abilities.
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • to be confident and professionally presented.
  • to have a current driver's licence and vehicle.

Final salary will depend on your relevant experience and skills.
