THE POSITION:

Provides customer
service and business support services, managing requests and enquiries from
Library customers and other stakeholders to contribute to the efficient
provision of a core business service to Council's customers. The position also
collaborates with business units, providing specialist operational support,
developing relationships to enhance service delivery, and managing key
information or systems to facilitate the delivery of business objectives and
meet user and customer needs.

The position may also contribute to the
delivery of key projects incorporating research, planning, delivery,
evaluation, and the management and/or co-ordination of Council systems,
programs or events, liaising with internal or external stakeholders to achieve
successful project, system or program outcomes.

ESSENTIAL:

The
position will:

  • Need a
    motivated professional to provide an efficient and effective library and
    information service to meet the needs of the community across our 5
    libraries – Whitlam Library Cabramatta, Fairfield Library, Bonnyrigg
    Library, Wetherill Park and Smithfield Community Library.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability
    to establish and maintain effective working and customer relationships.
  • Perform customer service duties with a focus on creating a positive
    customer experience outcome.
  • Apply initiative, be a strong team player and problem solve on
    issues encountered in day-to-day activities and in the response to
    customers' requests and issues to determine and implement an appropriate
    course of action.
  • Have administration skills to manage and maintain information and
    library management systems.
  • Be required to work within a library roster, including evening and
    weekends.
  • Have a Certificate III in Library and Information Services as a
    minimum.

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT
CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent full-time position, 70 hours per
    fortnight
  • This position is a Grade 3, salary
    range is $68,436 progressionto $75,538 p.a. on demonstrated
    competencies, with performance progression to $80,166p.a., plus 12% Super
  • A penalty rate in lieu of weekend work
  • A uniform is provided
