About the Role
Step into a dynamic Senior Occupational Therapist role where clinical excellence meets leadership. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to lead from the front—delivering high-impact therapy services while guiding and supporting the team.
- Providing high quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention to clients with significant physical disabilities.
- Utilizing an evidence-based measurement tool and your skills in assessment, you'll create therapy plans and provide life-changing occupational therapy to support participants in achieving their goals and maximizing NDIS funding
- Building meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends)
- Delivering training and support to other internal Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants in the specialist area of practice, as required.
- Discharge planning and equipment prescription
You'll play a key role in both delivering client services and supporting the development of other team members. This includes providing informal mentorship and leadership within the OT team and ensuring best practices in clinical care.
About You
You are a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist with 4–5 years of clinical experience, currently registered with AHPRA. You have a strong foundation in complex physical disability, with demonstrated experience in:
- Experienced Occupational Therapist with a positive, contemporary attitude to people with disability
- Client driven evidence-based therapy services
- Clinically accomplished and confident with leadership capabilities
- Good working knowledge of the NDIS, TAC and/or Aged Care.
- Experience in AT, home mods, SIL & SDA assessments is desirable.
- Experience working in the disability sector especially with clients who have spinal cord injuries or significant physical disabilities.
- High level of assessment skills to understand patient care needs and recommended supports for the community
- Committed to interdisciplinary practice with excellent communication skills
- Skilled in the provision of supervision and education.
In addition to your clinical expertise, you bring leadership capabilities, having either supervised junior staff or supported a team. You're confident in working autonomously while also contributing to team development. You take initiative, are well-organised, and committed to delivering high-quality, client-centred services. Your experience also includes managing and prioritising a clinical caseload, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
