What you will be doing
We are now looking for Transformation Program Executives/ Program Directors in Canberra to lead programs with our Federal Government clients and build out our Program delivery capability. The programs will be complex, and potentially multi-year and multi-million dollar in scale. The domains might include digital solutions, applications development/modernisation, systems integration, ERP and SaaS deployment, cloud migration, analytics, and IT service transition and transformation.
You will be the person who brings all those elements together and who ensures the overall success of these transformation programs. You will have a proven track record of delivering large scale enterprise programs with Federal Government, and ideally Defence.
Specifically, you will have previously:
- Lead programs to deliver major IT change for enterprise clients, as the Program Director or Snr Program Manager
- Engaged with Client Executive to ensure appropriate governance of the programs and help them navigate the change
- Managed a group of project managers who in turn manage 50 to 300 project members across multiple streams of work
- Managed multiple sub-contractors to deliver major change programs as a consortium or as the prime contractor
- Responsible for the program financials and the scheduling of multi-million dollar programs
- Delivered on the obligations set out in the program contract and have been proactive in addressing deviations with strict commercial governance
You will also work with regional leadership to build a high performing program delivery capability for Canberra and the APAC region by championing best practice methods, evolving the services, and coaching project management teams.
Personal attributes:
You will have a track record of successful delivery with various Federal Government agencies, and ideally with Defence. You will hold an active clearance of NV1 as a minimum. You must be an Australian citizen.
You will have very strong program management disciplines, working closely with the PMO, contract management, account teams, and the client to drive to the programs to meet schedule and budget objectives.
You will expect both the clients and the team to deliver to the contract; including strict scope control, proactively managing expectations.
You will have a deep understanding of commercial contracts, working with contract management, and managing DXC's obligations under the contract.
You will also hold project managers on both sides accountable for their deliverables, schedule, quality and budget. In short, you will be able to have the difficult conversations and get a positive outcome for everyone.
