Team Leader – Road Maintenance

Location: Narrandera, NSW

Pay Rate: $55.23 per hour + Super

Duration: Until 19 December 2025 (with potential extension)

Hours: 8.5 hours per day, 76 hours per fortnight | 9-day fortnight

Start: ASAP

Work Type: 90% camping away

About the Role

Transport for NSW is seeking an experienced Team Leader Grade 2 to lead a field crew delivering vital road and pavement maintenance programs across the region. This role combines leadership, coordination, and hands-on involvement in road-construction and sealing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide team members, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Resolve day-to-day operational issues and contribute to practical solutions for complex site challenges.
  • Foster collaboration and resolve conflicts through effective communication and leadership.
  • Implement and monitor WHS procedures, hazard identification, and risk management practices.
  • Coordinate resources, schedules, and daily work programs with Works Supervisors and Managers.
  • Provide strong technical support and direction in Hot Works and Sealing operations.

About Youyou're an organised, proactive team leader with proven experience managing large civil maintenance crews. You combine technical know-how with practical field experience and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality outcomes.

  • Work Order Form (WOF)
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence
  • Traffic Control (TC) – or willing to obtain
  • National Police Check (required – can commence pending clearance)
