We currently have an opportunity available for a capable and experienced TEAM LEADER for work with a road works team based from Narrandera.

Commencing ASAP, this role will involve working full time hours for a period of approximately 2 months initially until Christmas, with plans to extend into the new year, depending on satisfactory performance. An attractive hourly pay rate is being offered.

This role will involve travel and camping away for 90% of the time.

Using your previous experience within the road works or civil construction fields, duties of this role will include:

  • providing supervision, guidance and direction to team members, accepting responsibility for work carried out by the team to achieve set goals;
  • resolving routine problems that arise during the course of work, referring to standard guidelines and manual when required, and suggesting solutions for complex issues to ensure risks are minimised and work goals are achieved;
  • applying interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts and model collegiate and collaborative behaviours within the crew;
  • implement, communication and monitor WHS procedures for identifying hazards; assessing and controlling risks; and record management - providing training and guidance to ensure understanding and minimise risk;
  • daily communications with works supervisor and managers about scheduling work ahead to time and organising team resources;
  • understanding and having the knowledge and experience of managing a large team, and hands on experience in Hot Works such as sealing.

Successful Applicants will need;

  • Current WHS White Card
  • Worker On Foot card - or willingness to obtain prior to start of work (online link able to be provided for successful applicant)
  • Unrestricted driver licence - with MR licence or above an advantage
  • Traffic control ticket/s - or willingness to obtain
  • good all round fitness for manual work tasks
  • previous experience with road construction or maintenance will be highly regarded

MUST be willing to undertake a police records check prior to commencement of work.
