The Position

The Food Inventory Manager is responsible for maintaining control of food stock onsite and coordinating logistics between the warehouses and production kitchens, inbound and outbound. The Manager ensures processes are optimized, efficient and accurate. This position requires a clear and effective communicator who is highly organised in planning, data management, and process as well as being able to pivot as needs arise. The Manager plays a key role in optimising production output.

The Inventory Manager is responsible for:

  • Build and maintain efficient and productive processes that optimize working capital and inventory management processes.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with the Warehouse Supervisor and Executive Chef to ensure effective support for production output.
  • Work collaboratively with operations colleagues to successfully integrate sourced food volume and inventory management into a production environment via an Integrated Planning Process (IBP) process.
  • Drive collaboration and process improvement processes to ensure all production improvements have business wide support and resource.
  • Maintain site stock on hand reporting via centrally located documents, ensuring regular and detailed stock positions are available for the Warehouse Supervisor, Executive Chef and IBP team.
  • Setup and manage a 'work in progress' process and storage area as prescribed by the Executive Chef. This includes segmenting ingredients for kitchen use 24-36 hours in advance, ensuring product is of quality and standard. A separate stock on hand report is needed for the WIP process.
  • Optimise inwards and outwards goods, including finished meals and ingredients to ensure cost reduction and productivity are in focus. This is required to be done collaboratively with broader IBP team.
  • Complete weekly reporting as required and attend monthly site meetings, adding value to production output, efficiencies and initiatives.
  • Maintain kitchen pantry stock on hand and replenishment as needed by Executive Chef.
  • Maintain manual handling equipment and keep up to date service records.
  • Ensure warehouse records are reconciled and accurate with the daily transactions being conducted and all sessions are completed each day .
  • Ensure all asset movements (chep, locam, VPS) are being appropriately recorded and asset accounts are managed appropriately.
  • Engage and coordinate with multiple trades to ensure site facility management is appropriate to business requirements.

  • Able to build trust and lead by example
  • Proven success and experience in FMCG, preferably in a warehouse/inventory position
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems
  • Experience in IBP planning processes
  • Able to effectively prioritise and solve problems in a timely manner
  • Experience working in a diverse team setting
