About the Role

Our St Ives service is seeking a passionate Cook or Chef to lead the day-to-day operations of the kitchen catering for up to 98 children daily. You'll prepare five meals a day from our seasonally inspired menus, developed in line with Orchard's paddock-to-plate philosophy.

You'll also have the rare opportunity to be mentored by Tawyna Bahr, Executive Chef and leading Australian food consultant, as part of our network of like-minded Orchard chefs.

Your Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals and snacks for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years
  • Cater to dietary needs and allergies with care and safety
  • Manage kitchen operations, ordering, and stock rotation
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Collaborate with educators and participate in occasional parent events
What We're Looking For
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • Working with Children Check (NSW)
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within early childhood or hospitality
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and allergen management
  • Creative flair with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Energetic, organised, and committed to high standards of presentation and service
