The role & you
MidCoast Council's Transport Asset Management System is a critical tool that supports long-term planning and management of the region's transport infrastructure. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Asset Systems Officer to maintain and enhance this system through accurate data entry, analysis, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter new transport assets into the system, collaborating closely with the Geographic Information System (GIS) team to ensure assets are correctly linked to mapping tools.
- Filter, sort, and analyse data using Technology One and Microsoft Excel to support future programming and reporting needs.
- Work alongside Asset Officers to uphold high standards of data quality and integrity within the asset management system.
- Create and manage work projects that link completed works and expenditure directly to transport assets.
This is a technical role requiring a meticulous approach and a strong commitment to maintaining data integrity through effective system management. We're looking for a detail-oriented and methodical person to manage and maintain asset data for our roads and transport infrastructure.
This role involves bulk data uploads into Technology One, so strong IT skills and a careful approach are essential. Flexible working hours can be offered for the right candidate.
What You Will Bring
- TAFE or equivalent qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including strong skills in filtering, sorting, and data analysis functions.
- Experience developing and maintaining asset database applications.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset to enhance systems, procedures, and processes.
