We are looking for a full-time Business Machine Mechanic to join the team. This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Chatswood, NSW.

Main Tasks:

  • Install and configure digital and wide-format printing systems, including HP Latex 800W, Roland VG (White Ink), and Ricoh digital presses, ensuring correct mechanical and software setup.

  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on business-grade printing, cutting, and finishing machinery to minimise equipment downtime and maintain operational efficiency.

  • Diagnose mechanical, electronic, and software faults in machines such as saddle stitchers, laminators, guillotines, Summa F Series cutting tables, and air roll mounting systems.

  • Troubleshoot system errors and mechanical failures, replacing worn or faulty components and ensuring systems are restored to full operational capacity.

  • Perform calibrations and test cycles on high-output printers to maintain print alignment, resolution accuracy, and colour consistency.

  • Generate knife lines and adjust machine parameters for contour cutting, integrating file preparation with mechanical output precision.

  • Use diagnostic software platforms (e.g., Caldera and Fiery RIP) to identify print-related errors and optimise equipment performance.

  • Conduct inspections and prepare detailed technical service and maintenance reports for machinery, liaising with external technicians or manufacturers when necessary.

  • Train staff in safe operation procedures, including startup, shutdown, and emergency protocols for digital print and finishing machines.

  • Ensure compliance with WHS (Work Health and Safety) protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free technical environment.

Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:

- Relevant Certificate III or IV, and a minimum of 1 year' full-time work experience in the industry, within the past 5 years.

3 years' work experience in the industry may substitute the formal qualification.

Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:

- Skilled in diagnosing and repairing advanced equipment.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.

- Strong mechanical expertise.

- Familiarity with office technology and its various components.
