What is the role?

Are you looking for an opportunity that offers meaningful work and allows you to showcase your professionalism and stakeholder engagement skills? Applications are sought from suitable applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Hub Leader - SHIELD.

This role oversees the day-to-day operations of a SHIELD Health Hub. The Hub Leader will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including clinicians and support staff, to provide high level client and population group services, case management and excellent customer service.

The Hub Leader will also work in conjunction with other Hub Leaders across Australia and the national SHIELD team. Suitable applicants for this role will have a passion for client care, strong organisational skills, experience in business management, quality assurance systems and continuous improvement in addition to managing multidisciplinary teams. The role requires ability to develop strong relationships and work in collaboration with stakeholders to understand operational objectives and health risks of both the organisation and the relevant command.

As a Team Leader in the AFP you will play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.

What will you do?

Job responsibilities for this role consist of, but are not limited to:

Work with a range of health and support staff to develop business strategies and deliver both population and patient focused services.

Contribute to the design, implementation and evaluation of workplace procedures, processes and patient services.

Coordinate data collection and reporting to the national SHIELD team to enable monitoring and evaluation.

Coordinating and participating in quality assurance framework reviews and playing an active role in continuous improvement.

Oversee daily SHIELD Hub operations, including resource prioritization, scheduling, managing the supply or medical and other equipment.

Lead a small team of administrative support staff to engage with clients and provide high level client care.

Ensure patient records and IT systems are managed in line with set requirements.

Facilitate the administrative induction and training of new employees.

Work collaboratively and develop productive working relationships with other SHIELD Hub Leaders, SHIELD program team, and the national SHIELD team Technical Leads to support SHIELD objectives.

Engage with national and regional command management and operational teams to ensure services are tailored to the needs of the Command and organisation.

Manage and lead a team effectively to ensure timely communication on current issues, team performance and opportunities.

Essential Requirements

You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.

A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Contemporary leadership experience.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability for strategic and innovative thinking.

Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders (internal and external).

Desirable Requirements

The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:

Qualifications in Business or Health Management are preferred.

Previous experience leading a multidisciplinary team.

Health and safety knowledge and/or background.
