Baker (Heywood Bakery)

Heywood Bakery is a busy bakery cafe, operating in Heywood VIC. We produce a high-quality product and bake fresh daily 365 days a year. We create a wide range of pastries, cakes and cookies for our local community, and welcome them to our open production kitchen and cafe space.

We are currently seeking a full-time experienced baker to join our team. As a baker at Heywood Bakery, you will be responsible but not limited to:

• Preparing and baking a wide range of bakery products such as bread, rolls, muffins, cookies, cakes, pie and pastries following established recipes and production schedules
• Ensuring baked goods meet quality standards for taste, appearance, and texture
• Recommending recipes to refresh our menu and bring in new customers (e.g. gluten-free or vegan desserts)
• Managing raw material inventory of baking ingredients and supplies
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the baking area, tools, and equipment to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations

Qualifications and Work Experience

• Minimum Certificate III in Bread Baking
• Minimum 1 year of full time experience in relevant roles

Skills

• Trade qualification as a baker (preferred) or significant experience in a commercial bakery environment
• Strong knowledge of baking processes and equipment
• Ability to work early mornings and in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Team player with good communication skills
