About This Opportunity 

The Data and Evaluations Officer plays a critical role in supporting the Lead through Learning initiative, which aims to transform teaching, learning, and assessment at UQ in response to artificial intelligence. This position collects, analyses, and reports data to track project progress, evaluate impact, and support evidence-informed decision-making. Working closely with project leads, academic staff, and institutional analytics teams, this role ensures timely insights into the program's effectiveness, adoption, and outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include: 

Data Collection and Analysis Management

  • Design and manage data collection processes for project evaluation, including surveys, engagement metrics, feedback mechanisms, and usage data. Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to monitor progress and inform improvements in project delivery.

Reporting and Data Visualisation

  • Develop dashboards, summary reports, and data visualisations for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring insights are clear and actionable.

Evaluation Framework Support

  • Support the design and implementation of evaluation frameworks that align with both institutional and project goals.

Collaboration and Reporting Cycles

  • Collaborate with UQ's data, analytics, and academic teams to source and interpret relevant datasets. Contribute to regular reporting cycles, reviews, and impact statements for project governance and executive oversight.

About You  
  • Tertiary qualifications in education, social sciences, evaluation, analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.

  • Demonstrated experience in program evaluation, data analysis, or institutional research, preferably in a higher education setting.

  • Proficient in data analysis tools (like Excel, SPSS, NVivo, Power BI, or similar) and comfortable working with mixed-methods data.

  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to translate data and findings into accessible reports and recommendations. Demonstrated high-level communication skills to effectively engage a range of audiences.

  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic project environment. Capable of working both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
