About the role

As the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program (IYLP) Support Officer – Program Delivery, you'll work as part of a small, dedicated team supporting the delivery of the IYLP across our national Education Partner Schools. Reporting to the IYLP Manager, you'll help coordinate program activities, build strong relationships with students, families, and education partners, and ensure the smooth delivery of leadership and mentoring opportunities.

This role is ideal for someone with strong cultural awareness, organisational skills, and a passion for working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to create lasting impact. 

A day in the life might include:

  • Supporting the facilitation and delivery of the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program
  • Maintaining accurate program records, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with students, families, schools, and community partners
  • Assisting with interviews and selection processes for new IYLP participants
  • Delivering leadership and mentoring sessions in a culturally safe and responsive way
  • Providing high-quality program administration and stakeholder support
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation in program delivery 

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies, cultures, and contemporary issues
  • A tertiary qualification in Social Science, Humanities, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in program delivery and stakeholder engagement, ideally within a community or educational setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport across diverse groups
  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • A proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Willingness to travel intra- and interstate when required
