Peace Together Mentoring is looking for another youth mentor to join our growing team in our 1:1 youth mentoring program.

About Us

Peace Together Mentoring (PTM) provides strengths-based, person-centred mentoring and community support for young people across Adelaide. We work with children, adolescents, and young adults who may be living with disabilities, mental health challenges, trauma, or social barriers.

Our sessions are designed to build safety, trust, and consistency. Through one-on-one, goal-focused support, we help participants develop independence, emotional regulation, social skills, and stronger community connections.

At PTM, you'll be part of a supportive, values-driven team culture, with a welcoming hub space designed for connection, collaboration, and positive energy.

The Role (Casual)

As a Support Worker / Mentor, you will:

  • Deliver 1:1 structured mentoring and community support sessions .
  • Build safe, professional, and supportive relationships with participants (Youth).
  • Promote skill development in areas such as daily living, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
  • Support participants in accessing recreational activities, essential services, and community opportunities.
  • Develop and follow session plans based on individual goals and NDIS support needs.
  • Attend team meetings, training, and supervision as required.
Key Requirements
  • Certificate IV (or higher) in Youth Work, Disability, Mental Health, Community Services, or related field (or currently working towards).
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Criminal History Check.
  • Current Driver's Licence (unrestricted).
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Safeguarding training (e.g. Safe Environments) or willingness to complete.
Skills & Attributes

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust.
  • Experience working with young people who have complex needs or trauma backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, behaviour support, and person-centred approaches.
  • Confidence in managing challenging situations calmly and professionally.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, including planning structured sessions.
  • High standard of written communication for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to work respectfully with diverse communities.
