You will be part of a collaborative environment where your writing skills, organisational abilities, and attention to detail are highly valued, and where your efforts directly support the health and wellbeing of communities across Australia.
What you'll do:
- Draft, edit, and proofread high-quality written content tailored for both internal and external audiences, including newsletters, media releases, social media posts, website articles, reports, and briefing materials.
- Ensure all communications are accurate, accessible, clear, and consistently aligned with organisational values and brand guidelines.
- Adapt messaging effectively for different audiences, channels, and purposes to maximise engagement and understanding.
- Coordinate communication activities by managing timelines, approvals processes, stakeholder inputs, and ensuring all tasks are tracked efficiently.
- Support the preparation of comprehensive reports, impactful presentations, and detailed communication plans for various projects.
- Liaise closely with internal teams as well as external stakeholders to gather relevant information and ensure messaging is consistent across all platforms.
- Maintain up-to-date content calendars, media lists, and communications databases to streamline workflow and enhance team productivity.
- Assist in monitoring media coverage and digital channels by preparing regular updates and reporting on communications activity outcomes.
- Provide general administrative support to the Head of Strategic Communications and contribute positively to the wider team's objectives.
What you bring:
- Demonstrated excellence in writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences across various platforms.
- Outstanding organisational skills combined with strong coordination abilities that enable you to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Proven experience in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field where you have delivered impactful content under pressure.
- A collaborative mindset with the capacity to work harmoniously alongside colleagues and stakeholders at all levels within an organisation.
- Meticulous attention to detail paired with a commitment to producing high-quality work that reflects positively on the organisation's reputation.
- Advanced research skills complemented by data analysis capabilities and critical thinking proficiency when developing or reviewing content.
- Experience working within government agencies, health organisations or not-for-profit sectors would be highly regarded but is not essential for success in this position.
- Expertise in using PowerPoint or similar presentation tools at an advanced level would be advantageous for preparing engaging visual materials.
- A proactive attitude characterised by reliability, initiative-taking behaviour and sound professional judgement when faced with new challenges.
