Responsibilities

  • Identify suitable sites across all Australia with appropriate grid connectivity potential.
  • Utilize advanced GIS tools and mapping systems for site identification, environmental screening, and infrastructure assessments.
  • Apply experience with Dye & Durham, RP Data and similar platforms for efficient and accurate landowner searches and land title reviews.
  • Lead greenfield site identification activities based on Trina greenfield strategy;
  • Negotiating options, leases and acquisition of identified sites.
  • Negotiate transmission line easements, licences and leases.
  • Perform due diligence and investigation into background info and specs for the project, resource and site assessment, interconnection issues, feasibility studies, environmental and risk assessment, secure sites through land option agreements;
  • Actively identify and develop new greenfield solar power plant opportunities;
  • Build relationships with local land agents or brokers to support on land hunting on pre-defined areas.
  • Land Tenure audits and investigation of historical, financial and legal land parcel for easements;
  • Support to the Project Development Team. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Track project milestones and deliverables;
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Pro-actively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans;
  • Participate actively in community engagement activities, including meetings, consultations, and ongoing communication with local stakeholders and landholders.
  • Engage with Traditional Owners, First Nations representatives, and other key stakeholders to ensure respectful consultation and compliance with cultural heritage requirements.
  • Participate in meetings with government and regulatory stakeholders to influence decisions and secure opportunities for growing the business. Prepare proposals and presentations in line with company's strategy and business interest;
  • Participate in trade-shows, workshops or other relevant events to promote business interest and develop new project opportunities.
  • Understand and manage environmental and planning approval processes required for Development Approval (DA), including EPBC referrals and approvals, as well as environmental audits and compliance reporting.
  • Experience in land identification and development processes in New Zealand will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of solar or wind project development experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience of renewable energy greenfield sites identification and acquisition.
  • Previous experience in fostering landowner relationships, negotiation of landowner agreements and strong understanding of planning processes and grid connection processes.
  • Awareness and understanding of economic, regulatory and demographic factors which impact upon greenfield project development search areas, development activities, commercial drivers, and financing requirements.
  • Bachelor degree and above, preferred majors include engineering, business administration, law, finance/investment; or equivalent experience in project development.
