Heavy Logistics & Mechanical (HLM) is seeking an experienced Trades Assistant to join our team supporting mining operations across the Bowen Basin. If you're mechanically minded, safety-focused, and ready to get involved in a major mining operation, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Bring
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia (no sponsorship available)
  • Experience in a mechanical or engineering environment
  • High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (mandatory)
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence (mandatory)
  • Standard 11 (mandatory)
  • RIIMPO304 – Conduct Wheel Loader Operations (desirable)
  • Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, Drug & Alcohol screen, Coal Board Medical, and National Police Check

Your Day-to-Day
  • Support trades personnel in maintaining and servicing the fleet which includes D11 Dozers, 16M & 24M Graders, 773–793 Trucks, and 400T & 600T Excavators
  • Prepare, clean, and organise tools, equipment, and work areas
  • Spotting, lifting, and moving components as required
  • Assist with inspections, fluid changes, and basic equipment checks
  • Record service data and report defects or maintenance needs
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and housekeeping standards
  • Assist with spotting, packing/unpacking tooling, and general workshop or field tasks
  • Maintain clean, safe, and well-organised work areas
