Primary Purpose

Lead and develop the bench repair technicians in performing repair, maintenance, and calibration of industrial products such as ANI, NDT, and RVI in a manner that enables them to support the department in achieving targets associated with providing our customers a service level that is the benchmark in the industry. Ensure continual improvement projects recommendations are implemented and followed and to contribute to discussions and decision making. Working closely with other team leaders, service operations supervisor, service management team and staff from within the department and across the organisation as required. Maintain a positive culture and mindset within workshop team aiming to increase engagement score year on year.

Key Responsibilities

Daily, Weekly, Monthly repair forecast and resource capacity planning.

Monitor and report KPI achievement and implement actions required to enable team members to meet the agreed targets using Evident released processes.

Contribute to the development of a customer focused team mindset

Promote and support OHS, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure timely cascading of technical bulletins and changes to processes to the repair team utilising technical specialist via technical meetings and other media.

Manage and coordinate assigned technical specialist as per technical specialist position description.

Support of project and administration tasks as required by Management

Conduct weekly team meetings

Monitor technicians' skillset and skillset shortages and plan training according to requirements

Perform all repairs in accordance with Quality Standard AS/ISO9002 as detailed in Company Objectives.

Carry out efficient and effective repairs/servicing to ANI equipment, facilitating prompt return of the equipment to the client.

Provide efficient and effective servicing and maintenance for all IBD demonstration and loan equipment.

Carry out pre-sale calibration adjustments/additions and QC checks to ANI X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) equipment, under direction from the ANI Product Manager.

Provide application support and advice to our ANI sales team and our ANI customers, under supervision of the ANI Product Manager.

Process all QIS and equipment returns for Evident and third-party products.

Carry out inspection and correct operational testing of equipment on completion of repair, including "Sign-off" of Quality Assurance Certificates as confirmation of having carried out above checks.

Provide feedback to sales team of any replacement sale opportunities due to uneconomical repairs and obsolete product repairs.

Maintain customer instrument service records.

Inspect products and/or materials for conformity to regulatory, manufacturer and industry operational standards.

Maintain tools and work area to in accordance with 5S principles.

Ensure correct operation, and maintain proper storage, of all test equipment used in the repair, calibration and testing of electronic and equipment.

Formal Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering .
  • Possess an understanding of electronics and computer-linked equipment.
  • Excellent electro-mechanical aptitude with exposure to optical mechanics is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Evident ANI equipment repairs and calibration, with understanding of Evident NDT & RVI equipment repairs preferred but not essential.
  • Proven people management and conflict resolution skills.
