The objective of this position is to partner with clients and advise them on the use of information technology to meet their business objectives. Providing strategic guidance and solution design regarding technology, security, IT service management and infrastructure is also a key function.
The capability to communicate technical concepts in understandable business terms and produce technical documentation requires exceptional interpersonal and communicative ability.
Job Description
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
The role is required to deliver the end user experience in Data Centre/Public Cloud including:
- Architect and design and delivery.
- Seek out and analyse customer requirements to determine the best solution for a client's business problems, including discussing directly with customer management and executive leadership where required;
- Conduct user requirement analysis and make recommendations that impact technical solutions;
- Undertake tasks requiring analysis of multiple technical alternatives, diagnosis and problem solving, then qualifying the product/service fit and defining support needs;
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and services to fulfil customer needs for selected accounts
- Define major technical solutions involving product and/or deployment and/or support services for clients or prospective clients enabling them to determine effective IT investment strategies;
- Manage client expectations prior to delivery of major solutions, strategies and architectures;
- Write and shape technical responses and proposals to meet client requirements, including the potential to propose solution and/or service trade-offs and present those solutions to the client;
- Provide demonstrations, presentations, training, consultation and sales support services for the Sales team, clients and customer support;
- Assist with the preparation of content for marketing material and documentation.
Additional Responsibilities
- Technical leadership of project engineers and support of project management on complex projects.
- Other duties as may be delegated by the Business Unit Manager from time to time; and
- Conduct all activities in accordance with company policies and procedures, as may be amended from time to time.
Desired Skills And Experience
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Excellent presentation and communication skills;
- Strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to converse with those at the C-Suite level and IT Managers;
- Ability to develop, write and review complex customer facing documents including proposals and technical documentation;
- Ability to tailor presentations and proposals according to needs and varying levels of understanding of different audiences;
- Specialise in a technical area of data centre and service provider solutions, but comfortable discussing a broad range of IT services and solutions;
- Ability to learn technical concepts quickly and maintain a broad knowledge of industry trends and technology solutions in the market that may impact solution architecture;
- Expert level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio);
- Analytical, diagnostic, project management and problem-solving skills; and
- Commercially savvy while maintaining strong ethics and respecting client confidentiality.
Technical Skills
- Data Centre, Public Cloud (AWS/Azure) solution, design, implementation and documentation
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology, consultation management and management of business risk.
- Identifying IT Strategies aligned with business requirements.
- Strong and deep understand of client business transformation approaches to be able to represent these discussions inside the Ethan Group organisation.
- Executive level interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with clients.
- Superior analytical and presentation skills.
- Effective time management skills to meet deadlines amid competing priorities.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years experienced in the design, implementation and delivery of complex Data Centre/Public Cloud solutions tailored to the unique requirements of the client and that deliver measurable business value.
- Excellent business comms skills
- Able to stand in front of a customer and manage the situation.
- Understand the Modern app space – e.g. Kubernetes, Public Cloud Dev-Ops
- In-depth knowledge and experience in project management, service delivery and change management methodologies including experience in managing organisational business improvement programs and initiatives.
- Knowledgeable in multi-sourcing concepts and how to create services that align with a client's use of modern outsourcing – Ethan Style.
- Proven ability to develop quality relationships with clients measured through acknowledgement and trusted discussions.
- Experienced in forming new and enduring matrixes of teams focused on clear common objectives, client delivery and business results.

Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in an IT related field highly regarded; and
Current technical vendor certifications across key vendors are desirable.
