Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic

Perth, Western Australia Ford and Doonan Air Conditioning Full time $60,000 - $80,000 per year

Ford & Doonan Kardinya is seeking an experienced fulltime refrigeration mechanic with a view for a long-term engagement. A successful applicant must be reliable and have strong work ethics. It will be necessary to comply with our safety requirements, our installation procedures and able to work without instruction.

Most importantly we need a "can do" attitude.

We will provide:


• Current model company vehicle


• Overtime (in addition to base rate), superannuation, and a company mobile phone


• A paid day off on your birthday (after qualifying period)


• Daily access to our ice machine for your drink esky (also provided by us) or lunchbox


• PPE all supplied, including sunscreen


• Uniforms - shirts, pants, boots, hats, jackets and jumpers.

Your duties:

· Assess cooling and refrigeration needs by technical drawing, or specification plan installation and repairs.

· Install a variety of Air conditioning Systems, chiller and commercial refrigeration units according to compliance and manufacturer guidelines.

· Position and connect piping for refrigerants and drainage.

· Conduct maintenance on air conditioning and refrigeration units.

· Diagnose issues in refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

· Recharge system with appropriate refrigerant gas after identifying and sealing leaks.

· Log service details, repairs and test results for future references and regulatory compliance.

We have work available in the following categories for experienced refrigeration mechanics:


• Single story ducted refrigerated


• Under construction two-story refrigerated


• Existing home installs remove and re install new equipment

To apply you must:

  • have a minimum of 5 year of Work Experience
  • have a Certificate III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent
  • be experienced
  • be able to work as a team leader or as a team member.
  • have attention to detail
  • take pride in your work
  • be organised
  • be a team player

Must also have current and valid:


• Refrigerant Handling License (ARCtick)


• Full Trade Certifications


• WA Restricted Electrical License


• WA Manual Driver's license


• Australian Residency


• Construction Industry Safety card

Applicants possessing comparable background, qualifications, or experience suitable for a seamless transition into this position are also encouraged to submit their applications.

A successful applicant must be a permanent Australian resident already local to Perth, with a sound knowledge of the Perth metro area.
