The Town has a dynamic future and we are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced Environmental Health Officer to join our skilled team in a full-time permanent basis.

Your new role

The position is responsible for protecting public health and providing a safe and attractive environment for the community in accordance with statutory obligations, Council policies and procedures.

You will have the opportunity to work with our community to protect, promote and improve public health in an integral role that contributes to the economic vitality of our Town.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) or other equivalent qualification suitable for appointment as an authorised officer under section 24 of Public Health Act 2016 and Section 87 & 88 of the Environmental Protection Act 1986.
  • sound knowledge of statutory provisions relating to environmental health.
  • sound administrative and organisational skills, with high attention to detail.
  • ability to take initiative while working autonomously in a busy environment.
  • flexibility to work on weekends and outside regular office hours.
  • working knowledge of processes, programs and policies relevant to environmental health.
  • excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills, with an ability to build constructive working relationships.
  • current WA driver's licence.
