Job DescriptionJoin 9News Sydney as our next State Political Reporter for a 12 month fixed term contract and become a key voice in the state's political narrative. We're looking for an experienced and highly motivated journalist who excels at breaking news.
Day to day you will:
- Focus primarily on political news and developments within Sydney and New South Wales.
- Contribute to significant stories across various news categories beyond just politics.
- Actively seek out and break exclusive news stories.
- Dedicate time to building and maintaining a strong network of political contacts.
- Unearth exclusive, insightful, and impactful content for broadcast and digital platforms.
What you'll bring:
- Proven ability to generate exclusive story ideas and content.
- Dedication to building and maintaining a strong network of contacts.
- Excellent live reporting and interviewing skills, particularly in breaking news scenarios.
- Outstanding writing and a deep knowledge of politics.
- Willingness to embrace multiplatform journalism, with a track record of contributing to radio, digital, or social platforms.
