HSSE Data Scientist / Specialist
to join their Adelaide-based team on a long-term contract.

This role offers a unique opportunity to apply advanced analytics and data visualisation to strengthen health, safety, security, and environmental performance across critical operations.

About You

You bring a strong balance of technical expertise and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to communicate insights clearly and drive adoption of digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain HSSE dashboards and reporting tools (Power BI, Python/R, SQL, SharePoint).
  • Drive digital architecture improvements to enhance data governance, system integration, and efficiency.
  • Partner with internal IS teams and third-party vendors to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
  • Lead workshops with regional stakeholders to align tools with both corporate and local needs.
  • Translate complex datasets into actionable insights that enable proactive risk management.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in data analytics within a safety, compliance, or regulated environment.
  • Advanced skills in Python or R, SQL, and data visualisation (Power BI).
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

Desirable

  • Certificate IV or higher in Work Health & Safety.
  • Experience applying AI/ML to operational risk or compliance.
  • Senior professional who can bring both technical depth and business acumen.

Key Details:

  • Adelaide, SA (local candidates strongly preferred)
  • 12-Month Contract (potential for extension)
  • Full-Time | Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)
  • No FIFO or Relocation offered
