About the role
The Isaac Business Chamber is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Community Support Coordinator to provide critical community coordination and administrative assistance, supporting the Business Development Officer, Special Projects Facilitator and Committee functions.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys working in a purpose-driven environment, and wants to play a meaningful role in the success of both local projects and broader regional development initiatives.
What you'll be doing
- Provide day-to-day admin support to the Special Projects Facilitator
- Help coordinate meetings, events, consultations, and project logistics
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations and project documentation
- Maintain stakeholder and project records and communication tools
- Support Chamber administrative functions including membership services, event coordination, and internal record-keeping
- Manage communication channels including email, newsletters and social media updates
- Assist with the coordination of Chamber-hosted and Smart Transformation events, meetings, and business development initiatives in the Isaac region
- Provide admin and scheduling support to the Chamber Committee and Smart Transformation Advisory Councils and Youth Advisory Councils in Dysart and Moranbah.
What we're looking for
- Experience in administration, project or event support, or similar roles
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and basic project management tools
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
- A collaborative team player with a passion for regional development
- Current driver's licence and own transport preferred

The Isaac Business Chamber is a not-for-profit organisation supporting economic and community development across the Isaac region. As we take on the facilitation of the Smart Transformation Program, this role is central to helping both the program and the Chamber operate smoothly and make an impact. BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) is a major supporter of the Smart Transformation Program and the Chamber, along with other key stakeholder and partnership support, which helps us to achieve meaningful impact for the communities in the Isaac.
About Smart Transformation
Smart Transformation works to future-proof the communities of Dysart and Moranbah and build their sustainability. Smart Transformation operates independently, with support from BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) since 2019, and is driven by the two towns' Smart Transformation Advisory Councils (STACs) and the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) in Dysart and Moranbah. Council members capture feedback and advice from the communities they call home, to direct resources and effort into projects important to local residents
