About the role

You will work in partnership with First Nations students and a range of stakeholders to enhance the education and employment prospects of young First Nations people by developing, coordinating, delivering and evaluating:

o   educational curricular, activities and lessons on environmental topics

o   regular structured school-based junior ranger activities

o   camps, excursions and field trips.

Skills and experience

·       Proven coordination, administrative  and consultative experience

·       Ability to inspire and gain the confidence of First Nations students

·       Good writing skills to prepare reports for the funding body

·       Initiative to be able to work with limited direction

·       Knowledge of the VET system is an advantage but is not essential.

Inherent requirements

·       A strong understanding of the issues facing First Nations students

·       A satisfactory national police check and WWCC

·       Current driver's licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle.

Ngarrindjeri are the traditional owners of the Lower River Murray, Lakes, Coorong and Sea which has been internationally recognised for their diverse eco systems. NLPAC is focused on progressing the interests of the Ngarrindjeri Nation on Country (Ruwi) specifically by the Caring of Country and the provision of education, training and employment opportunities to the local community.
