Golf Club Manager

The Golf Club Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and strategic direction of the golf club. This position requires strong leadership, management skills, and a passion for golf. The Golf Club Manager ensures that members and guests receive excellent service, manages club staff, and maintains the club's facilities and financial health.

Reports to: General Committee

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management:

2. Oversee daily operations of the golf course, pro shop, clubhouse, restaurant, and other facilities.

3. Ensure that the course is well maintained and operations run smoothly.

4. Staff Management:

5. Hire, train, and supervise club staff, including greens staff, food & beverage team and administrative support.

6. Develop and maintain staff schedules, conduct performance reviews, and foster a positive working environment.

7. Ensure high levels of customer service and professionalism.

8. Member Relations:

9. Build and maintain strong relationships with club members, addressing any inquiries, concerns, or complaints promptly.

10. Oversee the management of the membership base including subscription renewals, applications and inductions.

11. Organize member events, tournaments, and other social activities to engage the club community.

12. Regularly communicate with members about club updates, special offers, and events.

13. Financial Management:

14. Prepare and manage the club's annual budget and financial plans.

15. Monitor and control costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.

16. Submit a monthly report to the General Committee regarding financial outcomes

17. Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations for improving profitability.

18. Oversee billing, membership dues, and other revenue streams.

19. Complete payroll for all staff

20. Marketing and Sales:

21. Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the club and attract new members.

22. Design promotional materials, including brochures, newsletters, and digital content.

23. Promote golf packages, corporate events, and membership offerings.

24. Ensure the Club is updated with current golf industry trends and changes.

25. Maintenance and Facilities Management:

26. Ensure that the golf course and other club facilities are well-maintained and meet industry standards.

27. Oversee the maintenance of the golf course, including landscaping, turf care, and equipment management.

28. Ensure that club facilities (clubhouse, restrooms, etc.) are clean and well-maintained at all times.

29. Health & Safety Compliance:

30. Ensure compliance with all local regulations, licences and legal requirements, health and safety laws, and environmental requirements.

31. Maintain safety protocols for both members and staff, including emergency procedures.

32. Strategic Planning:

33. Develop long-term strategies for the growth and development of the club.

34. Work with the General Committee on major capital projects, renovations, or expansions.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in business management, hospitality, sports management, or related field preferred.

• Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in golf course management or a related field.

• Proven experience in staff management, operations, and customer service.

• Strong knowledge of the golf industry and trends.

• Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team building and staff motivation.

• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and financial reports.

• Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with golf course management software is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

• Occasional travel may be required for professional development or industry events.

Compensation:
