About your role
Following a recent retirement, we're offering a rare opportunity to join IXOM's industry-leading commercial team as a Key Account Manager – Water & Energy, based in Brisbane.
In this high-impact role, you'll manage a portfolio of major accounts across the Water and Energy sectors. You'll be a strategic partner to our customers—driving growth, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering exceptional value.
This role suits a proactive, results-driven professional who thrives on building strong relationships and navigating complex contract lifecycles—from negotiation and compliance to renewals and performance optimization. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure outstanding customer experiences and contribute directly to business profitability.

Key Responsibilities
- Work autonomously and remotely to manage strategic accounts, achieve revenue and gross margin targets, and foster account growth.
- Drive new business with a hunter mindset—actively identifying and securing high-value opportunities
- Build influence as a trusted advisor to key customers, stakeholders, and executive sponsors
- Track and manage KPIs, ensuring customer performance aligns with business goals and proactively resolving issues
- Lead strategic reviews and deliver insights through regular reporting and performance analysis
- Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance and securing timely renewals to maximise value
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, supply chain, quality, and customer service teams to deliver seamless solutions
- Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
- Deliver strong, profitable growth within your segment, contributing directly to IXOM's commercial success
Who are we looking for?
- Proven experience in a sales role within the water industry, with a track record of working independently and achieving results.
- Strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders across the organization.
- Commercial acumen and experience managing the full business development cycle, including contract management and municipal water tender bids.
- Background in water treatment (strongly preferred), with exposure to industrial, mining, or energy sectors
- Resilient, self-motivated, and thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, or a related field
