Carinity Education – Southside has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Youth Worker – Learning Support to join their team. The Youth Worker – Learning Support provides support to teaching staff by working with students in the classroom, supporting their learning as well as their social emotional development.

This role requires availability across Monday to Friday (8:30AM – 3:00PM).

What do I need for the role?

  • Possession of Certificate III (or higher) in either Youth Work, Education Support, or relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing support to marginalised young people.
  • Ability to relate to youth from different backgrounds to build positive, professional relationships.
  • Hold a current drivers' licence.
  • TCI training is highly desirable.

Location: Carinity Education – SouthsideBe part of an independent special assistance girl's school providing secondary education, vocational training and mentoring for students in Years 7 – 12, many of whom identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Students are treated with unconditional positive regard at all times. Many of the young women are from backgrounds of trauma, abuse and neglect, and have complex needs.

Our small class sizes will allow you to get to know each individual student, build a relationship with them and help them develop a positive sense of self. With a dedicated Youth Worker, the support you receive will allow you to focus on creating lessons to engage and support the individual needs of your students.
