THE ROLE

Honeysuckle Regional Health – Violet Town Bush Nursing Centre welcome applications from enthusiastic and compassionate Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinators and Leisure and Lifestyle Assistants who are passionate about creating meaningful, engaging, and person-centred experiences for residents within our care.

We are currently seeking a Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator on a Full-time, Part-time or basis to join our dedicated and supportive team. In addition we also welcome applications from those seeking employment in the role of Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant on a Part-Time or Casual basis.

As a Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator, you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing of our residents by planning, coordinating, and delivering programs that promote social connection, independence, creativity, and enjoyment. You will work closely with residents, families, volunteers, and staff to ensure activities reflect residents' individual needs, preferences, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences. This role is central to supporting residents' emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing in line with the Aged Care Quality Standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement and evaluate leisure, lifestyle and wellbeing programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care goals.
  • Encourage resident participation and engagement in activities that foster independence, inclusion, and quality of life.
  • Build strong connections with residents, families, and the wider community to ensure programs are meaningful and culturally appropriate.
  • Support residents' emotional, spiritual and social wellbeing by facilitating group and individual activities, outings, and special events.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of programs, attendance, and resident participation.
  • Collaborate with the care team to integrate lifestyle and wellbeing activities into overall care plans.
  • Uphold residents' rights to dignity, choice, privacy, and identity in all aspects of service delivery.

Essential

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage residents, families and staff in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Minimum qualification in Leisure & Health, Diversional Therapy, Allied Health, or Certificate IV in Leisure & Health (or working towards).
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering leisure or lifestyle programs within residential aged care or a similar environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, problem-solve and adapt to changing needs.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and commitment to embedding person-centred, trauma-informed, and inclusive practices.
