Senior Mining Engineer

We are partnering with a tier-1 gold miner to recruit a Senior Mining Engineer for their underground mining project within Australia on an 8/6 or 14/14 FIFO roster.

Reporting to the Business Readiness Manager, you will responsible for:

  • Work closely with operations and technical teams to support business readiness, close operational gaps, and deliver a number of critical improvement and assurance initiatives
  • Leading a substantial documentation refresh project, including operational risk assessments and procedures (supported by two additional resources)
  • Supporting and reviewing data drilling systems.
  • Providing technical input across explosives systems, including:
  • Reviewing and identifying alternatives to the current PED system
  • Broader assessment and potential trial of alternative explosives systems
  • Supporting an area denial system trial for jumbos
  • Addressing ongoing challenges with underground services (air and water), including system setup, management, and performance
  • Driving general productivity improvement initiatives, such as:
  • Establishment of in-pit pads and short dumping processes to improve ore movement during shift change.

Key requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years in Underground mining engineering experience
  • Strong technical capability with a practical, delivery-focused mindset
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a contract environment
  • Proven ability to engage with operations, challenge systems, and implement improvements
  • Experience with automation, UG services, explosives systems, and operational risk documentation highly regarded.
