Butcher - Crittenden Meat Store

We are looking for a new member to join our team. This is a full-time position based in the western suburbs.

The Duties of the position include:

  • Meat selection and preparation for the sale and supply by removing bones, trimming fat and cutting, mincing and grinding meat to shape and size ordered
  • Slicing, dicing and portion cutting
  • Selecting and preparing meat to produce smallgoods
  • Operating machines such as bandsaw and sausage filling machine, to grind, mix, mince, tenderize meat and making sausages
  • Making seasoning and curing special cuts
  • Maintain a clean workspace and adhere to OH&S, including beginning of day set-up and end of day clean-up

Skills and Experience required:

  • Relevant qualifications required (AQF Certificate ||| in Meat Processing or equivalent)
  • Minimum 12 months relevant work experience (favored
  • Sound cutting skills, for example, ability to cleanly bone all base and cuts down to muscle primal and equip knowledge of all variety of meat products and stock control procedures
  • Excellent communication and customer service
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Strong equipment safety knowledge
