Farm Maintenance - Mechanic – Welder

About the Role

Kangaringa Station is seeking a skilled and motivated Farm Maintenance - Mechanic – Welder to join our team in Shaugh, SA. This full-time, hands-on role supports the Maintenance Manager in ensuring all farm machinery, vehicles, and infrastructure operate safely and efficiently. From mechanical repairs and fabrication to preventative maintenance, you'll play a vital part in keeping our diverse farming operation running smoothly.


What You'll Do

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and fabrication work on agricultural machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Carry out welding, cutting, and fabrication of steel components as required.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective, lasting repairs.
  • Assist with general maintenance of farm buildings, irrigation systems, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns and downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Work safely and comply with all workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience as a mechanic, boilermaker, or maintenance technician (agricultural or heavy machinery background highly regarded).
  • Strong skills in welding, metal fabrication, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying maintenance needs.
  • Sound understanding of workshop safety and maintenance best practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Trade qualification preferred but not essential, relevant experience highly valued.
